Hoboken Movies Under the Stars!
I recently made my first trek out to Hoboken for their "Movies Under the Stars" summer screenings. We went to see 'Bridesmaids' #ladiesnight
I was surprised by a) How quick I made it out there and b) how awesome and not stupid crowded it was. The movie screen was set up with a view of Manhattan behind it and the screening took place on a beautiful pier. Unlike Bryant Park you don't have to fight for a spot and unlike McCarren park movies you aren't sitting on concrete listening to a bad soundsystem.
This being said you should all check these out - here's the schedule for the rest of the summer:
July 25 – The Help (9:00pm) Rated PG-13; 146 minutes
Nominated for 4 Academy Awards, including Best Picture, Best Actress (Viola Davis), and winner for Best Supporting Actress (Octavia Spencer); also starring Emma Stone, Jessica Chastain, and Sissy Spacek. During the peak of the 1960s civil rights movement, an aspiring author decides to write a book, gathering stories from local, African-American maids; the book unveils secrets about white employers, as well as describes the maids’ daily hardships.

So as all of my friends know I am an addict of coupon emails - Groupon, Livingsocial, Gilt, Ruelala, Fab.com, ETC.
Lately some of the best deals I've been finding have been on Thrillist.
Think of Thrillist as a guys version of Gilt City - a lot of beer drinking deals, rock climbing deals, drunk brunches, amazing things. In addition, they're also very well curated events and they have articles on new fun places around the city as well so it's always a great read each day.
So far I did a beer tasting at The Growler Station and my boyfriend recently purchased a beer tasting card where he can go to 30 different bars across the NY boroughs for a pint of beer or a tasting of three different beers at each bar. GREAT way to see new places. I've been seeing mini golf championship deals (complete with a 2 hour open bar!!) but have yet to find it on a date I can go - waiting on this one...
However the point of this all is that there's an awesome deal today for ROCK CLIMBING at Brooklyn Boulders. I have yet to go but I hear it's awesome - GET ON IT!
