For a fixed price, guests of The Water Table will enjoy a three-hour cruise originating at one of the many new piers opening in Greenpoint, and a selection of two of our classic dishes, such as lobster rolls, oysters on the half shell, clam chowder, and delicious veggies, whipped up by our on-board chef. I came across Rocks Box as I was hunting for holiday gifts. Knowing there were so many "subscription" services out there I figured there MUST be one for jewelry! And then I pulled this necklace out and I was in love. I've worn it every day since I got it. Robyn Rhodes Bryson Ring in White

Love love love. This ring is beautiful and fun and different. The only qualm is how hard it can be to shape the ring size (it's made so you can bend the band in to whatever size you need) but overall this ring is amazing and I'm so glad I got to test it out.

Chaos Cooking!

As someone who loves food (perhaps a little too much...) I was quite intrigued when I heard about Chaos Cooking.

You sign up on their site where you can then see upcoming events. At each event every attendant brings the ingredients for one dish, and each person brings enough to serve all other attendees. So if there are 15 people at an event you get to try 15 different dishes!

It's like Thanksgiving times a million.

Oh and I forgot to mention - it's held in a NYC apartment. How do they pull that off?! I have no idea but I need to see it to believe it so let's do this and EAT!

Lower East Side DayLife Fest - SUNDAY!

On Sunday, September 30^th, DayLife will cover Orchard Street in pushcarts and astroturf for this FREE 3-block special event with food, fashion, a full line-up of top-tier DJs, and games such as Twister, badminton and urban croquet.  Then mark your calendar for Sunday, October 28th when DayLife featuring the 11th LES Pickle Day takes back over! Our pilot event brought over 10,000 people down to Orchard Street earlier this year to shop, eat and hang – and now it’s back!

There will be food from about 25 vendors, including Mission Chinese Food, Pushcart Coffee, Saxelby Cheesemongers, Family Recipe, Brooklyn Taco and many others.  LES stores such as By Robert James, Felraiger, SHUT Skates and Con Artist are also taking part.  There will also be DJ’s, games like Twister and croquet and other entertainment.

Dumbo Arts Festival!

Each year the Dumbo Arts Festival seeks to highlight Brooklyn’s commitment to and presence in the arts community by presenting the best in local, national, and international art amid the breathtaking backdrop of the Brooklyn Bridge and the Manhattan skyline.

The Dumbo Arts Festival attracts 200,000 visitors over 3 days with the participation of over 500 artists from a variety of disciplines, 100 studios, 50 galleries and stages and 100 programming partners. This year, the Festival will take place on Friday, September 28th, Saturday, September 29th and Sunday, September 30th. The official Festival hours are Friday 6pm to 9pm, Saturday 12pm to 9pm, Sunday 12pm to 6pm and sundown to midnight all three nights for all outdoor projections.

Art revelers can enjoy: outdoor and indoor visual art installations and exhibitions, digital art and large scale projections, visiting artists in their studios or making murals on the street, musicians, dancers, poets, performance and circus artists throughout the neighborhood, on street corners, and in the park.

Basically there's a free event in DUMBO - this weekend, September 28- 30 where you can create on interactive canvases, listen to music and see amazing outdoor installations. In preparation for the release of the new Bruce Willis / Joseph Gordon-Levitt film Looper Thrillist has created a list of Looper themed places to check out in NYC -

The REAL DEAL Choco Taco!

Tasting Table recommended a real restaurant with a LEGIT CHOCO TACO. my mind was blown. Choco Tacos were my favorite as a kid and I need to try this real deal version made of wontons and fancy things over at Zengo. Who wants to go?

Summers starts by deep-frying wonton wrappers until they crisp up with crunchy bubbles, then molds the wrappers into taco-perfect shape using bent can lids.

She uses a Pacojet (list price: $4,000) to make the vanilla ice cream. Rather than slowly churning a chilled base with a paddle, the titanium-coated Pacojet blade shaves a frozen block of ingredients into instant ice cream. Neither too hard nor too rich, it has the fluffy creaminess of lowbrow summer confections and the flavor of pure Mexican vanilla.

Summers paints a chocolate hazelnut paste on the inside of the taco, then showers it with salty-sweet cashews. To finish: a drizzle of dark chocolate sauce.

As someone who commonly experiments with "Beer Floats" this sounds A-MAZING. I can't even imagine how delicious this evening will be....

Deal of the Day: Forcella!

First off, full disclosure Forcella is 3 blocks from my apartment so obviously I'm a big advocate of this place. HOWEVER, i can honestly tell you this place is AMAZING. 

Forcella is a brick oven pizza restaurant with delicious, fresh pizzas as well as great salads and FRIED PIZZAS (I have yet to try these!). They al

so have a delicious Lambrusco I would recommend pairing with your meal. The space itself is a decent size and it's never overcrowded making for an always enjoyable meal!

Well today Gilt is offering some awesome deals on this place - $10 for $20, a pizza party for ten or a pizza party for two. The deal is valid for both of Forcellas locations - on Bowery and in Williamsburg - so I highly recommend you get on this. Come on...just look at the pizza...
